How to Understand the Mind
Started a new thing today... super excited about it too.
Joined this "Foundation Program" at the Buddhist center I've been going too. We study a book in-depth together from January to April, meeting once a week for a few hours led by Rebecca Gautheir.
The book we are studying is "How to Understand the Mind: The Nature and Power of the Mind" by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
There was some review on part 1 on the book, and then dived into part 2.
Talked about the conceptual and non-conceptual mind, and then more in-depth about how objects appear, are observed, engaged, apprehended, and conceived. It was good, but tricky to understand at first.
A little about the conceptual mind.. when it conceives it names a problem. Now a problem exists. We then "suffer," by rejecting it.. not accepting it.. the goal is to have a non-conceptual mind. Tough to do though.
Won't get into it too much about tonight. But one of the things I've heard many times in classes I want to share are these two phrases:

&
"The only enemy we face, is inside of us."
